Fishing
Chaunigan Lake is one of the best wild rainbow trout fly fishing lakes in Canada. Making us a Fly Fishing Lodge like no other. The southern Chilcotin glaciers retreated 10,000 years ago stranding the salmon in Chaunigan Lake. These salmon evolved into a powerful strain of wild rainbow trout that hit your fly line like a freight train. The rainbow trout thrive because the lake is remote, abundant in aquatic insects, fed by nutrient rich under water aquifers, and has great spawning beds. Everybody catches fish and skilled angles often catch a dozen two-to-three-pound fish in a morning. Ask us about other lakes in the area to fish.

YOUR JOURNEY TO CHAUNIGAN LAKE LODGE
Our remote luxury wilderness lodge in BC is accessible by plane or car. Take a scenic flight over the coastal mountains or embark on an adventurous road-trip through BC’s interior. Our office manager will provide you with transportation details at the time of booking.
I have been coming to Chaunigan for over 20 years. The wilderness mountain views, wildlife, cozy log cabins, the scent of the pine and spruce forest are all part of the experience. We fly-fish and often catch and release over 50 wild rainbow trout fish each during our stay. We keep a few of the 3.5 pound plus fish to eat. The lodge's manager is a great host and makes us feel very welcome.
Our little boy had an amazing time during our one-week wilderness family holiday. Our lake front chalet had a beautiful view. The lodge manager is a fantastic host; you can follow him into the forest for a fabulous walk into the wild. Thanks, so much for making our stay so enjoyable and for making your famous ribs dinner. If you're looking for a peaceful place to recharge this is it.
